When it Snows in Houston!

When it snows in Houston, its BIG NEWS.

Hey everybody, it's snowing in Houston! This is our reward for the nasty cold drizzle we endured all day. We were playing outside with the neighborhood kids making little snowballs and snow angels and running around with our tongues sticking out. Too bad it was already dark when it started snowing.

Only Child kept picking up snow and tasting it; even off the ground!

I know that snow is no big deal for anyone north of Dallas, but for us, (being this close to the coast) it's a rarity. Only Child is one of four snow babies on our street; they were in utero the last time we saw snow 'round these parts. This evening they were running a muck, giggling and having the time of their little lives.

I made my neighbors take pictures for me because I was too excited to go in and hunt down the camera. I'll see if I can freeload one to post.

Stay Toasty!

Congrats on the snow. I'm always happy to see how happy snow makes people who don't get it often. I personally hate its guts, but that's okay...LOL The kids like it.

It is freaking cool! We don't even have gloves! But we lasted just long enough for pics!

It's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend...shorts on Saturday!

So Cal had snow 3 years ago and that was like the second coming of Christ.

Today, it was cold as all get-up here (like woke up to 42 degrees and was like WTF?)

Anyway, yay! for snow. Glad I don't have to drive in it anymore.

OH MY... I live in Houston but I'm in Austin for one night and it happens to be the night it's snowing in HOUSTON. Cry, cry. I hope it snows again tomorrow.

It's so funny to read all the Houston Bloggers! It's like snow in the desert!

Could you send some that cold stuff here. The kids and I are hoping for a white Christmas...they've never seen one!

Happy Thursday!

I love looking at snow, but I hate being cold and I really hate driving in it :(

I’m not sure if Bed Bath and Beyond has rolling pin covers. I got mine at Southern Hospitality in Sugar Land. You can purchase the pastry cloth and rolling pin cover in a set for about $5.00.

Did it get very cold when it snowed? Did it stick? I live in MN so we are smothered in snow and cold 4 months a year but each time it comes we are very excited and crossing fingers that it sticks with us for a while.

The snow was great! Althought I can't convince my kids that it most likely won't happen again for a while. Every night they ask if it will snow.

My son was also in utero during the last Christmas snow. He is now the exact same age down to almost the day the older one saw it back then.
